Welcome to my class website. I am enjoying working with you and supporting your child's learning experiences this year. The "Daily Reminders" tab includes things that students need to bring or return to school, as well as assignments or studying that needs to be done at home.
Grade 3 is an exciting time as children are becoming more independent and are capable of doing many more things for themselves. With that in mind, I encourage you as parents to allow your child to take responsibility for carrying their own belongings into the classroom and handing in notices themselves. I expect you will discover this is a very important year of maturation and I look forward to working with you as we guide your child along this path.
Birthdays:
Students are welcome to bring a birthday treat to share with their classmates on their birthday, if they wish!
A few things to help you at home:
Parents can use the "Shop Online" feature at scholastic.ca/canadaclubs. You may also return the order form to school, but make sure you circle the blue price level (this one includes the appropriate BC tax) and send a cheque or cash with the completed order form. Please put the order form and money together in an envelope or baggie so they do not get separated.
Field Trip Forms:
When returning field trip notices please remember the preferred on-line payment option. If paying at school, please put the form and money together in an envelope or baggie so they do not get separated. Alternatively, a cheque could be clipped to the notice.

A few things to help you at home:
- I can be reached by email at [email protected]. I am happy to receive email communication unless the matter is of an urgent nature that requires a more timely response.
- PE classes are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students should wear running shoes and suitable clothing on these days. A note is requested regarding any injuries or illness that preclude participation in P.E. or other physical activities. Sometimes parents send a note that lets me know of the injury or illness and that they are leaving it to the student's discretion to determine if they can participate. That is perfectly fine with me as the type of physical activity required and the student's ability to participate often varies.
- Our library class will usually be held Wednesday mornings with Mrs. Perkins and all library returns will be collected first thing in the morning. Books can be returned to the classroom collection bin any day of the week.
- Agendas are a communication tool between home and school. Students record the daily reminders in their Agenda under my guidance. From time to time I may write a note to a specific parent and you can also write notes to me. The plastic sleeve is for notices going back and forth between home and school. Sometimes I will have students keep an item in their plastic sleeve that is to be used at both home and school for a period of time.
